AUCNET Boosts Distribution of Pre-owned Branded Products and Expands Business in the EU Market
Begins Auction Data Sharing with Resale Platformer in the EU

7/9/2021

AUCNET INC. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chairman & CEO: Kiyotaka Fujisaki; President & COO: Shinichiro Fujisaki; hereafter “Aucnet”) is planning to start sharing auction data with a fashion resale platformer in the EU from September 7th, 2021 to further strengthen the distribution of pre-owned luxury brand products in the EU.

■The Premise for Expanding the Distribution of Name-Brand Goods to Companies in the EU Market
Aucnet started the world’s first real-time, virtual auction for purchasing used cars in 1985. Based on its philosophy, “Shaping the Future of Commerce,” Aucnet has expanded beyond the used car business into a wide variety of other areas, including used digital products and motorcycles. Aucnet has also gathered industry-specific knowledge and is expanding its distribution network to secondhand businesses.
In 2008, Aucnet started a B2B auction for pre-owned luxury brand items, developing a process for item inspections and quality grading in order to allow its secondhand store partners to distribute items with peace of mind. Aucnet is now one of the largest internet auctions in Japan.
In recent years, the demand for pre-owned luxury brand items in the EU has been increasing, and Aucnet has already established over 100 resale store partners in the EU. As its first step towards further developing its business in the EU, Aucnet has decided to start sharing auction data with an EU resale platformer with the aim to expand the distribution of name-brand items in the EU. We plan on further collaboration with our European partners to create more business opportunities.

■Overview of Auction Data Linkage with the EU Resale Platformer
Through linking Aucnet’s auction data to this EU resale platformer, EU businesses who handle pre-owned luxury brand goods will be able to participate in Aucnet’s auctions by bidding and purchasing items.
Aucnet’s unique evaluation system gives EU customers access to fair and secure transactions without them having to see the actual items.
Additionally, Aucnet will provide various services, such as localized invoicing and timely customer support, in several languages through the new EU business alliance in an effort to boost Aucnet’s distribution of name-brand items in the EU.
