Auction system

Q:I’m worried about purchasing via a TV screen without physically inspecting the vehicle myself.

A: There is no need for concern. Aucnet has developed a carefully structured vehicle inspection system that is strictly applied to every car submitted for auction. Inspections are performed by Aucnet Inspection Service Inc. (AIS), the sole industry inspection specialist. AIS inspectors visit member dealers to check cars put up for auction. Cars are evaluated based on a twelve-grade inspection system with 250-item checklist. There is no need to personally look cars over because the inspection results accurately and reliably reflect each vehicle’s true condition.

Q:What are the major differences between Aucnet’s TV auctions and conventional auctions?

A: On-site used car auctions involve all vehicles being brought to the auction site and participants gathering at a specific time. The are inefficient because bidders must be present in person to participate. Aucnet’s TV auctions, on the other hand, focus on convenience and enhance efficiency by allowing dealers to participate from their offices, alleviating constraints posed by time, distance, and cost.

Q: How frequently are TV auctions held?

A: TV auctions are held on the following days:
Used car auctions: Every Saturday and Monday
Motorcycle auctions: Every Thursday
Flower auctions: Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
PC auctions: Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

About Aucnet

Q: Are Aucnet’s services available overseas?

A: : Aucnet acquired New Zealand-based used car auction service Auto Auction Network Limited (AUCSAT) with the aim of expanding into overseas export markets. Under collaborative alliances with Aucnet and other major Japanese used car auction operators, AUCSAT offers services enabling local dealers to participate in Japanese used car auctions via the Internet. AUCSAT currently counts as many as 250 local used car dealers as its customers. The number of used cars exported from Japan to New Zealand has been increasing with each passing year, reaching 150,000 per year, and the country is proving to be the largest export destination for right-hand drive Japanese cars. Aucnet aims to further enliven TV auto auctions by taking in demand from overseas.
