Aucnet launched PCα Auctions, an Internet-based PC auction service, in December 2005, utilizing experience gained from TV and Internet-based used car, motorcycle, and flower auctions. The PCα Auction service is a membership-based B-to-B Internet auction service. Aucnet aims to ensure stability and fair prices in the market for used PCs, which tends to be quite volatile.

Aucnet holds exclusive sales rights in Japan to the internationally certified data erasure software made by Blancco. Data is completely erased from PCs using this software before they are auctioned, ensuring the safety of personal information and compliance with privacy laws. Each and every PC is inspected and evaluated by specialists to clarify the extent of any defects, so members can trade with confidence without having to physically inspecting the products themselves.

Used PC dealers and electronic appliance retailers bid for PCs consigned to auction by major businesses, leasing companies, manufacturer-appointed distributors, and the like. Once a bid is successful, a delivery company chosen by Aucnet ensures that the product is delivered safely to the bidder.
